Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy offers a place to become curious about yourself—to slow down, think together, and better understand the patterns that shape your life. We pay attention to how past experiences, important relationships, and the broader social contexts of your life influence the ways you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others.

Medication

I provide psychiatric evaluation and ongoing medication management, both as a standalone service and alongside psychotherapy. My approach to prescribing is collaborative and evidence-based, with an emphasis on using the least medication necessary to effectively support each person’s needs.

While medication can be an important and sometimes essential part of treatment, I believe it is often most helpful when paired with psychotherapy. When appropriate, I work collaboratively with your therapist to ensure that medication supports the broader work you are doing in therapy and in your life.

Approach

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I work with curiosity, openness, and close attention to what emerges between us, including thoughts or feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Rather than arriving with predetermined answers, I see therapy as a way of thinking together and developing a deeper understanding of your experience over time.

Psychotherapy sessions take place at least once weekly, primarily in person at my office in NW Portland. I value the consistency and presence of meeting together in person, with telehealth available on a limited basis.

I am currently completing advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and participate in ongoing clinical consultation as part of my practice.
